Cedar Rapids, IA - I wanted to thank all of the Coaches, Families, and Sponsors who attended and assisted at our Inaugural Gridiron Greats Camp.  The attendees worked hard on technique and learned skills that will assist them on and off the field.  Best of luck to all of the young men in this upcoming football season.  We are excited and have already started our preparation for next years event which will be bigger and better.

I'm Lew Montgomery, Former Iowa Hawkeye fullback and Waterloo Iowa, native. I'm reaching out to our business partners and friends who have a passion for helping kids.

Links for Lucas was started in 2008 honoring our son Lucas and kids suffering from Sanfilippo Syndrome.  Our effort efforts seek to utilize ex athletes from all sports and business segments to serve as mentors and a positive examples.

Our son Lucas suffers from a rare genetic disorder called MPS III B. His daily determination was the driving force behind our desire to create events that embrace the same spirit our kids show us everyday. Lucas is 17 now and has spent his life battling countless medical problems, surgeries, and doctors trying to uncover the mystery that was revealed as MPS IIIB, or Sanfilippo Syndrome. We are asking for your help on this journey toward finding cures for these devastating and life altering diseases.

We understand the importance of providing positive options for kids and more importantly, providing mentoring activities to our local community. Therefore, we feel that providing unique GGIA events will allow kids from all economic levels to participate and allow families and community partners to support/donate what they can.

Because of the generosity of our Gridiron partners we can continue to operate and provide positive leadership experiences and life skills that our kids can transfer into everyday life.

Our goal is to raise awareness and funds that support research to one day find a cure for this life threatening disorder.  We hope you will join our crusade and and swing for a cure.
